Who am I?I believe that global citizenship is a core part of understanding the world and hold the philosophy that it is essential to invest back into communities which shape our global awareness. I currently work year-round to teach a team of debate students at Theodore Roosevelt High School the skills to become engaged citizens and advocates in their community, giving back to an activity that made me a strong leader and independent thinker.
ADVOCACY IN ACTION
Advocacy and leadership is an essential part of my own life. On campus, I am the President of the Drake University Honors Program, Captain of the Model Arab League team, and the President of Student Activist for Gender Equality. I continuously push to expand my horizons and to act as a local leader and advocate for policy change regarding women's rights and the rights of traditionally marginalized communities. |
MY LATEST ADVENTURE
Cuba
In January of 2016 in a rare easing of relations between the United States and Cuba, I embarked on a journey that would change the way that I viewed myself, the world, and those around me. From Habana to Las Terrazas, Viñales, Playa Girón, Cienfuegos, and Trinidad, I found incredibly beauty in a country shaped by revolution, history, and the invisible hands of the world.

If the world is cold, make it your business to build fires.
